An ordained minister since 1991, Pastor Denny Barger (seen here with his wife Susan) holds a BS in Social Work from Alvernia College in Reading and an MA in Religion from The Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown. The Bargers are American but lived in Cairo from 1982-1987 where Denny worked in the Mukkattam garbage collectors slum. They returned to the States in order for Denny to earn his Masters Degree. While studying for his MA Denny started Calvary Chapel of Southern Ocean County New Jersey. The Barger’s have six children.
Ordained right here at Saar Fellowship, Pastor James (here with his wife Robyn) has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education and Teaching from Leeds Beckett University in the U.K., and is part of the Calvary Chapel University M.Div program.
James and Robyn have lived in the U.K., Germany and New Zealand before coming to Bahrain, where James' Grandfather served with the British Air Force in the 1960s, making Bahrain a genuine home away from home for the family.
James and Robyn have two young boys, both born here in Bahrain.
Sally Visser has lived in Bahrain for many, many years with her husband Andre. Their three children were brought up here and have now flown the nest. Sally takes care of all the administrative details of the church plus runs the women's ministry.
Ruth Misselbrook has lived in Bahrain since January 2014. Before that she lived and worked in London for many years. She is married to David and they have three adult children who live in the UK.
Angela Deller has lived in Bahrain since January 2013, spending half the year here and half in the United States. She is originally from North Carolina, where she worked for many years. She is married to David, who teaches at the University of Bahrain.
Debbie Ormsby hails from New Zealand and arrived in Bahrain with her husband Warrick who is a pilot. They have three grown up children who are working in New Zealand.
